In the beginning

First things first, a little bit of history... I've been building an extensive 00 gauge loft layout for some years now, and as you no doubt appreciate such ambitious projects are rarely even completed. During one of the warmer summer days, when the loft was hot and things were getting fiddly and complicated I downed tools in frustration and headed outside for some fresh air. Plonking myself down in the garden with a pint of something cold I surveyed the scene that presented itself. The garden isn't very big, but I started to see the possibilities for a small branch line, maybe single track, making its way down one side of the garden and crossing the back to end in a terminus station.
