As the sun has finally decided to shine on North Tyneside some progress has been made, although very much of the 'one step forward, two steps back' variety. I popped outdoors to fit two sets of buffers to the outside sidings, and in the process of doing so stepped on some track and cracked the sleepers. It appears that Peco 7mm sleepers have been composed of different materials over the years - the older sections I bought second hand are quite brittle whereas the sleepers on the new track seem to be much more 'waxy' plastic. It'll be interesting to see how well each type of sleeper holds up to the summer sun.
