Track

More clement weather has finally resulted in the laying of several more yards of outside track. This is much behind schedule, and is taking much longer than originally expected! I've had a few issues with soldering the wire droppers to the DCC power bus, mainly due to the difficulty applying sufficient heat at the point of contact. I've used mains cable which is solid core and I suspect the heat is being transferred too quickly away from the site that I'm trying to solder. That said, the four yards I put down in an evening all worked perfectly first time when the 03 hauled a track laying train along it! Some progress has also been made on the inside sections which now have all of the rail sides painted in a nice 'rusty rails' shade of brown.
